Andrea G. Rodríguez is a Research Fellow in emerging technologies at CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs). She also writes regularly at El Orden Mundial, where she started writing popular-science articles about international relations in 2017. Andrea is a member of the Programme Committee of the European Cybersecurity Forum after being awarded 2019 CYBERSEC Young Leader for her article "Two Reasons not to Miss the Quantum Race" (European Cybersecurity Journal, 5(2)). From March 2020, she is an Associate Member of the Observatory for the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence (OdiseIA), as part of the area of Security & Defence.

Andrea's research focuses on the use of emerging technologies at the strategic level (quantum information technologies and artificial intelligence) as well as at the local level where emerging technologies have a greater impact for citizens (AI). She is an advocate of security-by-design and privacy-by-desing products and that has taken her to be an often speaker about the risks of the use of emerging technologies in the data economy. Andrea is a frequent speaker at seminars, conferences, radio and TV programmes and she writes regularly for newspapers and journals to grant access to the general public to the new advancements in emerging technologies and how they determine the strategic movements at the international realm
